Skin flooding changed my skin faster than anything I’ve ever tried. I saw a difference in days, and honestly, I thought my skin was already super hydrated.
In this post I’m going to break down my skin flooding routine, and share how you can get started without buying a whole shelf of products.
What is skin flooding?
Skin flooding, also called the seven skin method, involves layering hydrating toners one right after the other while your skin is still damp.
Despite the name, you don’t have to use seven different toners or apply seven layers. I recommend starting with one hydrating toner and layering it two or three times to see how your skin likes it.
My skin flooding routine
After cleansing, I start with my thinnest, most watery toners and work toward my thicker, milky toners. Then I apply my ampoules, mists, and serums.
If you watch my skin flooding video, you might think it looks like a lot, but I promise it all soaks in. I finish with the rest of my regular skincare and, in the morning, sunscreen.
For me, the biggest difference was how plump and hydrated my skin looked. That glass skin glow is what made me keep doing it.
How to start skin flooding
Keep it simple:
Start with freshly cleansed, slightly damp skin.
Mist your skin with a spray toner or gently press in a thin layer of hydrating toner.
Repeat two or three times, depending on how your skin feels.
Finish with your usual skincare and moisturizer. Apply sunscreen in the morning.
If you’re only going to pick one toner, make it a hydrating toner. Skip exfoliating toners for this step, including those with glycolic, lactic, or salicylic acid. Keep the focus on hydration.
Skin flooding has become one of my favorite affordable ways to get a plump, dewy glow, with fast results. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Do you need all of my toners?
Absolutely not. I enjoy using several, but you can start with one you already own. Give your skin a chance to tell you whether it likes the extra layers before adding more products.
